On my mission to empower entrepreneurs and coaches to thrive, I’m laying bare the raw truths of my 25-year career. I’ll be sharing the 10 mistakes I learned from to help you build your coaching business. Join me in this candid exploration, and perhaps you can gain insights on how to navigate your own path more efficiently. As we embark on a profound journey of reflection, allow yourself to traverse your own path with greater ease and wisdom.
Starting with the Mistake #10: My research unveiled a common thread among the highest-paid coaches globally – a New York Times best-selling book. If you’re launching your coaching venture, consider creating a book that sets you apart. I’ve created 6 different books in 6 different ways. Though they have all been self-published. Never the less write sooner rather than later.
Mistake #9 : not establishing an intern and volunteer system early on. Interns and volunteers inject creativity and innovation into your business. In fact, it’s a win-win scenario fostering growth and mentorship. You might even place a careers – intern section on your website menu bar to automate and attract ideal candidates.
Mistake #8: Delaying the hiring of a rock star manager and team. A skilled manager is the backbone, allowing you to be the strategist and rainmaker, leveraging your strengths to propel your business forward. Download my Strengthspreneur® 10X Business Strategy Infographic to help you learn 10 areas of business to grow your coaching venture.
Mistake #7: Not creating more joint ventures and collaborative partnerships sooner. Partnerships, like those with Professional Christian Coaching Institute, Gallup, and Convene, have proven to be valuable. These types of partnerships open doors to referrals and broader opportunities.
Mistake #6: delaying tax payments and debt clearance. I’ve been there. However, tackling this head-on sooner allows you to invest in the growth of your business more effectively.
Mistake #5: Not sticking to a clear niche and brand from the start. While finding your perfect niche is a journey, a focused approach from the beginning can fast-track your coaching business. If you’re feeling unclear or stuck in your niche development download your complimentary Entrepreneur and Coaching Solutions Toolkit to speed up your business development.
Mistake #4: Build high-end speaking, workshops, and masterminds sooner. Diversify revenue streams through one to many programs is a game-changer that many coaches overlook.
Mistake #3: Moving away from blind proposals in the dark to partnership proposals greatly enhances your chances of making impactful sales. Also require decision makers to be on a zoom with you when you go over the proposal.
Mistake #2: Not engaging with multi-millionaires in a mastermind sooner due to a fixed money mindset. Surrounding yourself with successful peers, and being willing to make an investment, is a transformative experience that will speed up your coach business development. Check out our coach business builder mastermind called the Strengthspreneur® Mastermind.
And the grand reveal – Mistake #1: Not investing in my own professional coach and business development sooner. The power of coaching and mentoring cannot be overstated, and recognizing the value early on is key to unlocking your untapped potential. So, be sure to invest in yourself and growing your coaching business by registering for our upcoming Faith Based Strengthspreneur® 10X Strategy Workshop. There are several workshops coming up this year.
